HUNDREDS OF DEATHS LINKED TO FENTANYL OVERDOSE
LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK (January 1, 2017) – The New York Times is reporting that at least 220 people have been killed by overdosing on fentanyl.
Fentanyl is a synthetic prescription pain killer. The drug has become more popular over the years because it is cheaper to manufacture than a number of other drugs.
Many people have died from using fentanyl and accidentally overdosing. The famous singer Prince died in 2016 after overdosing on fentanyl.
Drug traffickers have also started using the drug to enhance the potency of heroin. This combination has made the two drugs all the more deadly.
